Prometeo Chain System opened a joint R&D laboratory
In December 2022, Prometeo Chain System and L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University opened a joint R&D laboratory in order to combine efforts in research and development in the field of distributed ledger technologies, in particular, blockchain technology, cryptography, the Internet of things (IoT) and artificial intelligence (AI).
The company's activity is aimed at the development of innovative technologies, and therefore the company pays great attention to scientific research. The structure of the company has a Department of Scientific Research, whose employees work on the search and development of effective solutions for the company's tasks. The company understands the importance of cooperation with research and educational organizations in the field of new technologies. Therefore, it is taking concrete steps in this direction.
In the past 2022, Memorandums of Cooperation with Astana IT University and L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University were signed, and already at the beginning of this year Memorandum of Cooperation with Saken Seifullin Kazakh Agrotechnical University was signed. As part of the concluded documents, the company is actively establishing working relationships with scientists, teachers and students interested in joint research and development in the field of new technologies. Even before the conclusion of the memorandums, several students of ENU had an internship in the company. One student after practice was invited to work in the company. Now he is successfully working on tasks within the framework of the company's projects. Also, several scientists and graduates of ENU have been successfully working in the company since its inception. To date, a number of students from Astana IT University and L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University are successfully undergoing internships and practice in the company. The company held a number of meetings with scientists and teachers of Astana IT university, L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University. In 2022, a joint R&D laboratory was created on the basis of ENU.
As part of the work of the laboratory, together with scientists from the Faculty of Physics and Technology of the ENU, a scientific project "Development of methods and algorithms for the safe use of QR codes for biometrics and its applications, including blockchain technology" was developed to participate in the competition for grant funding of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The company also plans to work on specific research problems with scientists from the Faculty of Information Technology and the Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics of the ENU, as well as Astana IT University and Saken Seifullin Kazakh Agrotechnical University. Students come to the laboratory every day and work on interesting tasks, gaining good experience in the field of new technologies.
The laboratory also planned the implementation of a number of joint projects with ENU. The first project aims to deploy on the territory of L.N. Gumilyov ENU wireless infrastructure for data transmission over long distances, designed for distributed telemetry networks, machine-to-machine interaction and the Internet of things. The second project is the development and testing at L.N. Gumilyov ENU of the blockchain technology training program, taking into account its application in various sectors of the economy. The third project is the implementation of blockchain technology in the distance learning system of L.N. Gumilyov ENU.
The company also understands the importance of IT education. Therefore, it has a number of interesting ideas for the development of education in the field of distributed ledger technologies, as well as cryptography, the Internet of things (IoT) and artificial intelligence (AI).
For example, the idea of creating a “Student Center for the Study and Implementation of Distributed Ledger Technologies”. This project is aimed at finding new ideas and approaches in the organization of educational and scientific work of L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University within the framework of research and implementation of new distributed registry and IoT technologies. The ultimate goal is to create an innovative platform for student activities focused on innovative technologies. It is supposed to develop and conduct training courses and entire programs, conduct research work, develop technical and commercial projects, and provide consulting services. And all this with the full and active participation of the students themselves.
The company is currently working on a number of interesting projects. And in the process of activity, many interesting tasks arise in the field of blockchain, cryptography, IoT, AI, which can become topics for students’ course and diploma projects. Thus, students can get the opportunity, as part of their studies at the university, to work on topical, modern problems of science, technology, and business.
